Disclave Cancelled

The 1999 Disclave has been cancelled

According to a Usenet posting from Keith Lynch, the 1999 Disclave has been cancelled by the WSFA (Washington Science Fiction Association) due to hotel problems. This follows the cancellation of this year's Disclave for similar reasons, and leads to inevitable doubts as to whether Disclave will ever be resurrected. However, the posting insists that the WSFA remain hopeful about the prospects for a convention in 2000, possibly under a different name.

Disclave is one of the world's longest running SF convention series, and we hope that they can overcome their present difficulties and continue to run the convention from 2000.
