Tom Whitmore to Chair 2002 Worldcon

Tom Whitmore is chairman designate for the (currently unopposed) 2002 San Francisco Worldcon bid

The latest edition of Cheryl Morgan's online fanzine Emerald City reports that the board of SFSFC, the parent body of the 2002 San Francisco Worldcon bid, has selected Tom Whitmore to chair the convention following Kevin Standlee's removal of his name from consideration.

While the site will not be selected until next year, the San Francisco bid is currently unopposed following the recent collapse of the Seattle bid for 2002.
